Naw, those of us with real jobs don't believe in most of the causes behind walkouts/protests. Those causes we do believe in that have protests schedule them for the weekend when the bulk of WORKING Americans are scheduled off.

Fortunately I don't go to protests much any more. I used to go to one almost every day.

Someone needed to stand between the protesters and the counter-protesters.

Besides, if I ever walked out, at a minimum I would get charged leave. I have plenty of leave but try to only take it in 8 hour blocks. 70% of the hassle in work is getting up and going. Once you are there you might as well finish your shift and enjoy the drive home.

    Be safe.

Yep....and I'll protest by not spending any money with you. That will always hurt more than broke, mushy brained kids that don't know shit about anything yet....and that's the smarter ones that might figure something out later. The rest of 'em turn into little liberals, and then all is lost on them.

A follow up post to my previous, a buddy at work with a teen still in high school had his son approach him the other day and they talked about it. The kid told his dad he didn't have any interest participating in something like that.

While he and I are proud of the kid, and some parents are REAL with their kids while growing them up....there are soooo many of them grown up with T ball and everyone's a winner. Life is rainbow kitties, all ya gotta do is wish for it and make it happen.

    Fvck me.

The kids seem so alien and (mostly) broken.

When I was in high school (mid 90s) isn't wasn't cool to be a conformist. It was cool to think on your own, listen to your own music, etc... Even that young I was interested in guns and learning how to shoot. Loved one of my uncles who taught me the basics. Would have trusted anything he said about guns over any teacher.

I know I would haven't have advocated against my own interests.

Book of Faced is filled with posts showing tweets from kids all around the nation saying they are being forced by their teachers to participate.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

That is very painful to hear, and quite disheartening honestly.

There’s already a teacher shortage. Who will “teach” the kids when they are locked up?

I wouldn't hate this “Uninformed Child/Useful Idiot” walk out so much if I thought for one second that any of these kids had even a minuscule amount of info on the pro-gun side of the issue.
