    Default M&P 15-22 weird cycling

So I took my 15-22 out shooting today and had weird results.

    Norma tactical subsonic cycled perfectly.

CCI standard velocity would fire, eject and chamber a round, but not reset the trigger. The chambered round had no firing pin indents. I thought the silencer may be the cause, but it did the same every round with or without. This ammo used to cycle 3 years ago before the gun was stolen.

Gun was clean and well lubed as normal.

The CCI ammo cycled fine in the 10/22, as did the NT.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Also broke out the AR9 SBR and silencer. Shot consistently.

If you have a spare H/T/S and springs for them, swap them. If that doesn't do it. You could also check your firing pin and bolt hole. Pin for any peening, the hole for any brass, dirt etc that may be causing pin to light strike. But, go with the swap first

I dont have spare parts, but will check the firing pin and bolt.

But why would it fire the 1st round, eject, fully chamber the 2nd round, but not reset the trigger?

But wouldn't it do it on all ammo? Not just 1 brand?

I need some 22 dummy rounds and see if I can eject a round and get it to repeat this while manually cycling

Does the 15-22 use a standard AR FCG? I have plenty of spares if so

Did some looking around, and found that the M&P 15-22 has been banned at Appleseed matches due to some out of battery discharges & some other malfunctions causing a few minor injuries.
Could you maybe be getting an ejection of brass, feeding a new round and not fully returning to battery, but far enough out of battery that the disconnect is preventing the hammer from falling ?
Have you taken out the disassembly pin and opened it up to actually see if the hammer was cocked back or not cocked back when you have this malfunction ?

I gave up on the magazine after 4 rounds and stuck with the Norma Tact, which worked flawlessly.

That still doesn't resolve the issue, which should be taken care of.

My 15-22 is picky with some ammo too. CCI makes specific ammo for it which always works well for me. If you can find it get some of this: http://www.cci-ammunition.com/produc...=1&loadNo=0956

I have had this come up when using cci quiet. It will load another round, but not come back far enough to reset the trigger. I have the performance center version.

Strange it used to cycle it and now doesn’t.
