Default Interesting attic find sparks discussion

Last fall our daughter and her family bought the house Mrs bo grew up in. They purchased it from grandma after renting for several years.

They have been remodeling and updating all winter. Recently some attic work required removing several boxes that had been stored there long enough that no one was sure what was in them.

The minions presented Mrs bo with a scrap book and some very old holiday decorations that had been stored away in the attic before their parents(our kids) had been born.

The scrap book garnered lots of attention, it was a school project done by Mrs bo and saved as keepsake by her mom. It was a documentation of the news coverage of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

Several hours were spent discussing the late 60's, space program, difference of tech then and now. Comparisons with shuttle program and recent Space X activities.

Promotional poster and soldering iron from correspondence courses Mrs bo dad completed in 1954. He went on to be a gas man for 39 years at PSCO.

Interesting to see DeVry Technical Institute stuff from 1950's.

Cool stuff. It's good a good reminder of where we were not that long ago.

Somehow I don’t see stuff from today being very interesting if it were boxed up and dug back out forty years from now.

Times and things were just way cooler back then.

    Nice finds.
