You still in the bacon game? I was talking to a co-worker today who said he passes through Gilpin regularly and the first thing I thought of was your bacon. I told him I knew of a spot to get killer bacon and he's interested. Can you supply some contact details I can pass along for a non-COAR15 member to contact you about discussing purchase of your delicious bacon?

I'd love any tips he can share about making home made bacon.... I've done several batches, but it hasn't picked up as much flavor from the curing as I had hoped. Just recently did a maple bourbon batch, in addition to adding maple syrup and bourbon to the cure, I also brushed it on during the smoking process, which seemed to have more of an affect on the final taste.

To get the authentic bourbon flavor you have to dunk the bacon in the bourbon and then eat it. A positive side effect from that is you now have a glass of bacon-flavored bourbon to wash it down.

Thank, I know I had seen that in the past. The recipe I used was pretty close to that. Saw your additional comments about Jalapeno bacon and black pepper bacon. I'll give that a try, last spicy one I did I tried to add the spicy just using dry spices, and it didn't pick up enough for me.
