The timeline has advanced. This morning before work, no name. They usually have a school shooter's name out quicker. I'm not surprised his name finally got out, especially if it makes him look like a right wing nutter.

From what I can tell, the police haven't released his name but those around the incident have revealed his name. This morning's news also had his age at 24, while other reports say 23.

his blog suggests this may be an accurate depiction and that he was also anti-gay.

That was 6 years ago. A lot can change with a person in 6 years.

do you really think a person's political beliefs will change that much in 6 years?

Not impossible at all. Nothing wrong with changing how you feel about things, especially when you're just a normal person and not a politician.

    Sure can.

5 years ago I'd never been to a single church service. Since then I've been baptized and even gotten so involved in church that I was elected to our board of decons.

People change even more than that in shorter periods of time.

Maybe we'll get to hear the 25 minute confession at some point. That would be a lot more significant than a random, class required blog post from 6 years ago.

I'd put money on him being gay and hating himself for it. Hid it from his conservative family.
First two victims appear to have quite possibly been of the gay persuasion.

    Just my bet.

I think the whole "hates gays so must be secretly gay" trope is more wishful thinking on the part of people who promote gay rights, used as a rhetorical bludgeon, than it is a real thing.

Based on the fact that he recorded a 26 minute "confession" video and it didn't contain any sort of politically of culturally driven "call to action" (if it did we'd have all heard about it ... especially if it was anything to the right of Noam Chomsky). My money is that he suffered from a dissociative personality disorder of some sort (no, not dissaociative identity disorder, aka "multiple personality disorder" but one of the other forms). Or maybe even full blown schizophrenia.

Like most people that murder randomly, its just nutters, not some sort of terrorism.

Hillary's did. She supposedly entered college as an establishment Republican and definitely left it as a Saul Alinsky Leftist.
