Dad and I drew our plains deer tag! Pumped because my dad lives out of state and I didn't think we would have enough points to draw this year so totally unecpected and he is pumped

    First choice!

My 12 year old son will be going out with my dad and I for our family's first three generation elk hunt since the early 90's.

    Good stuff!

CONGRATS MAN! how many times did you have to do a double take to make sure you read it right. I've been on a few successful moose hunts in Alaska and would love to offer to help but I'll just be wrapping up from my mountain goat hunt. Best of luck

    Hey Hummer,

What unit did you draw your moose tag in and how many points?

I did my double take on the cow elk notice and the deer reject so I had it down when the moose news happened:

    Moose Application
    License Year: 2018
    Congratulations!!! You have been Awarded.
    1st Choice
    Hunt Code: MM020O1R; List: A
    Antlrd Rifle
    Units #020 #029

I hit the Lotto with 3 PP + 15 weighted points.

Sorta. Maybe one of two or three bull tags for the two GMU areas this year, not sure yet. The moose population is still pretty low here. We had a cow moose come through the yard about 4 p.m. today but good bulls can be hard to find. It likely will be a very difficult endeavor to locate a trophy bull like the 9x7 point bull that we saw walking through our property last fall. That was a one chance encounter over several hundred days. I saw him again later in the winter but on private property. Hunting the Front Range with it's checkerboard of private and public lands is an added challenge.

I need access to the high country wetland willow areas and my old Tundra can't handle the new age 4WD routes built for high clearance superJeeps.
