My buddy has the Colorado/duramax option and it has been great for him. Tows plenty fine up the mountains with his 5.5k bumper pull trailer.
Awesome gas mileage.

I have the new 17 3500 with the recently upgraded duramax and it has crazy power and torque. I’ve pulled the max limit with it for landscape materials and it has been flawless. Just did three runs today getting 4 tons of roadbase each time and it doesn’t even act like anything is behind it. The mpg is much better than what you think duman. I get 18 all day long with nothing behind it. I get 13-14 towing just about anything.

I will agree I like the ford styling better, my buddy just bought a brand new king ranch crew long bed and the features on that thing are amazing. All the cameras, the integration with your phone etc. but it was also $15k more than my LTZ duramax and we have pretty much the same performance numbers.

What I would buy if they came out with one is in between the Colorado and the Silverado 2500/3500. Just give me a 1500 that can tow 12-14k with a Diesel engine and 25-30mpg and I’d buy that all day long. I don’t really need the 3500 but I sure do love it. They aren’t the trucks of old days that ride like a tractor and you have to shut it down at the drive through. It’s quiet, rides extremely nice.

We will be looking at the diesel equinox for my wife. I love diesels!
