I figured that a closed ear lower was just a gun that wouldn't be open to any of my suggestions.

I have an Aero M4E1 lower I haven't built out yet but it seems completely idiot proof with an integrated trigger guard AND a threaded bolt catch.
I've never had an issue with the trigger guard installation but I have had the bolt catch roll pin go south on me a few times.
