    No worries. I doubt any of us are truly ready to just hop off the grid and be fully self sustainable 100%.

    Agreed.

    I had, and took, the opportunity to stay for a week in a good friends off-grid cabin. (No cell phone, no internet, no electricity, cabin)

    It was an eye opening experience. The problem with comparing that to trying to be truly off-grid is I took enough food to last for a week, I didn't have to hunt/forage/etc my food.
