Point is Politicians are the least knowledgeable people on about everything, except how many phone calls, media news keyword points ,were screwed in regards to a free future, that makes any sense.

My renewal letter arrived today. I'm in El Paso County. The document is a lot more thorough than it had been. They also don't accept personal checks anymore; money order or cashiers only. You can carry a gun, but we don't trust you to write a check...

Oh. And the form now has to be notarized. Jeez.

Mailed the renewal info on April 3, received the new permit today, May 8. Not bad.

    Sounds good on paper though..

My renewal is due in October, currently Boulder County is only doing renewals via email or snail mail applications, sounds like less of a pain in the ass than having to go in, wondering if I should just renew now? You can renew up to 4 months ahead of the expiration so June should work?

It was painless. I scanned the documents they wanted and emailed them. I got a call from them a few days later and I gave the clerk my credit card, she was very pleasant to deal with. My permit expires on the 16th and she said I should have my new card in time with no interruption.

Quick "how screwed am I". I got my permit almost five years ago now (expires in a few weeks) when I lived in Golden (Jeffco). I now live in Denver, what's the process for a cross-county renewal? I totally expect there'll be a few week gap between my permit's expiration and when I get the new card, just hoping I don't have to start from scratch.

Perfect timing. Mine expires this month and I should really get on that.
