OK.. A crazy guy commits a mass shooting and the FBI and local police "miss" obvious red flags and the internet goes wild saying that the cops should have done something.. The cops do something when they see potential red flags and the internet goes crazy saying that he has yet to commit a crime and this is tyranny..

So.. Which is it?

1. Sun's not a citizen. We get the right to be safe before sorry in his case.

I don't have a problem with the Feds acting preemptively in this case. They SHOULD have acted preemptively when they got the 6th or 12th or 20th (much less 40th) report on Cruz.

Just visited the campus of UCI. So many brunettes. I checked on the demographics just to satisfy my curiosity - Asian-Americans and non-resident aliens (Chinese and other Asian students) were well over 50% of the student population. Those who identify as White were just under 15% of the population. We were only there a few hours, but I saw no mixed race couples.

They were trying to get him earlier, but due process stopped law enforcement from acting. As soon as he violated his Visa requirements, they moved in. The takeaway I had from this, is that they're claiming to have stopped a mass casualty event by preemptive action. If they weren't limited by due process and acted preemptively on a regular basis, would they pat themselves on the back every time for preventing something that rarely happens? This is like a lame version of Minority Report.

Aloha -- how does referring to a rifle as a sniper rifle pop as a red flag? I realize that in due deference to actual snipers and connotations thereof, many competitions cast themselves as "precision" and not "sniper", but let's be honest...
