Less in depth but free, https://www.uchealth.org/events/events/

Went last weekend and useful for the basics. Would love to take a TCCC course at some point but this was a good start.

Looks like they have three sessions on 4/9/18 during the day. They are only an hour long, so I'm not sure how much they would cover. At the price of free, it looks like it might be worth it for many people.

I took the TCCC class over at Bristlecone done by member cmailliard. I think the one at Centennial may be the same class. It was very informative, hands on, and gave me confidence I could use the equipment I carry in my range bag (cat tourniqet, combat gauze, pressure dressing, chest seal, npa).

I think cmailliard does several classes each month, bristlecone has one scheduled monthly.

^^^^ If this guy says cmailliard's class is GTG, it's GTG.

Thanks for the kind words all. MB504 that is my class at CGC. I have classes at Centennial and Bristlecone. Usually once a month at each. This Friday night is CGC and Sunday is Bristlecone. The 29th of April I am doing one at Bowers. I have been teaching TCCC/TECC based courses for almost 10 years now. The course stay current on the research, data and updates to ensure you have the most current and relevant info.

I can go into a long dissertation as to why Stop the Bleed is inadequate. While learning a TQ and Wound Packing are vital skills to learn, injury patterns in civilians still overwhelmingly occur in head and chest. This is mentioned in one bullet point on one slide in a Stop The Bleed course. A 2016 study showed these injury patterns and they have been backed up by incidents since then. While there is not a lot any of us can do for head and chest trauma, there are things we can do and most of it is getting the injured to the proper medical facility.

For those who have been to my 4 hour class and have asked for more, I have some in the works. Two variations of a more advanced course, a CCW version and a "gunfighter" version for lack of better term. They are based on capability and the kit you are wearing and carrying. Both will involve advanced medical skills, rescues, and some live fire, but again focused on the arena you find yourself in. Both will be 16 hours in length. I am trying to get everything together to have these posted for summer and fall.

I haven’t attended cmailliard’s class but he and I have talked quite a bit on the subject of trauma medicine. He would be the guy I sent family and friends to here in CO.
