Anyone else enraged by this comment from someone sworn to protect and serve? Should we just continue to be unarmed, scared and hopeful that nothing happens and if it does there's an officer of the law nearby if/when it does.

Quite the opposite. When I started carrying I now go out of my way to avoid any and all types of confrontation. I don't go to bars anymore and used to go all the time. I'm more aware of my surroundings and what could be a bad situation because I don't want to have to shoot anyone. I think that the responsibility that comes with carrying a firearm tends to make people MORE careful and NOT less careful.

I was just irked by this line from the guy with the badge because it supports the thoughts of the tree huggers watching this thinking that arming yourself to protect yourself is wrong. There's not a damn thing wrong with what these kids are doing (aside from needing a quality holster and some more safety training) and good for them because they're taking a stance against crime and letting criminals know that their thievery will be met with deadly force as it should. They don't care about laws but they do care about pain and death to some extent and if they don't then we won't miss them anyway.

It just bugs me that tree huggers all have this horrible misconception of firearms and what they can do and these same people think that LEOs aren't human beings. They actually believe they are of different genetics and are somehow perfect in every way and when you dial 911 one of those super humans will be at your side within 3 seconds of dialing the number to make everything alright. For one of these supposed super humans to lend credibility that people who possess and carry firearms are somehow part of the problem just pisses me off.

It reminds me of the 'Well, she was dressed like that so she deserved to get raped' comment. So, because I carry a firearm it's MY fault if someone gets shot attempting to rob me? What about the rapists and robbers? At what point do THEY get held accountable for their actions?

I carry, because when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. Cops do a job I don't envy, but their role is not really to prevent crime(except as a vague deterrent), but rather to apprehend the suspects after a crime has been comitted.

I appreciate and respect what LEO's do and praise(most of) them for doing it, but your right, unfortunately they can not be to most crime scenes fast enough. The objective of a robber is to get in and get out as QUICK AS POSSIBLE, usually only seconds.

I'm sure this has been said and discussed before, but the laws that the government continues to try and pass will only hurt the honest law abiding citizen. The drunk, drugged up crack head that is gonna kill someone to steal there money to by there next high, doesnt really care much if he gets pinched for carrying.....IMO if more of us carried, maybe there would be a few less bad guys out there.

Let me explain why I said "most" here. My EX brother-in-law was a cop for like 20 years and was one of the biggest crooks I have ever come across in my life, he's in jail now and will be for some time.....that being said, I absolutely respect LEO's and what they do, but some seem to think they have a golden ticket, and a free get out of jail card. Those are the ones that disgust me.

I feel like setting aside a few bucks to send for legal fees when these kids get into trouble with the law. I'm with them in spirit, but they are going about it the wrong way. IMO.
