Default Exchanging sights on two "like" firearms.

Hello Good Folks, I hope all finds you well. I have a quick question, which I hope does not seem to rudimentary or naive as I've always had other people do the work but due to circumstances and moneyflow, I think I may just give it a shot myself. So...

    I have a G19 and a G43.
The G19 has night sights on them.
I would like to take the G19 night sites and put them on the G43.
Then I would like to install a red dot on the G19.

    1. Is this possible? I'm assuming yes since same brand, just not sure since the G43 is slightly slimmer than the G19.
1A. Is there a manual somewhere that tells me how to accomplish this.
    2. Are red dots on pistols "suppressor height"?
2A. The red dot is not purchased yet, what are decent choices? I've got my eye on the Vortex but it is pricey (IMO).
    3. When I fubar it all, does anyone have a suggestion on whom to take it to and what the approximate cost might be?

    Thank you.

I have a Vortex Viper I'm going to part with. I bought it for my Walther, and before I ever shot it, I got a deal I couldn't pass up on an RMR. I was thinking of mounting it on my shotgun, but I never shoot it anymore. I can give you a good deal on it. Comes with everything that came in the box, including the box.

ETA: I'm heading down to the Springs for a conference and will be staying through Saturday.

The 19 and 43 sights won’t swap. The 42 and 43 share the same sights but neither of them are compatible with the larger Glocks.

If you want a RDS to align with the sights, you'll need to buy suppressor height ones. If you're going to mount a RDS you'll need an adapter plate that will go in where the rear sight sat. IF you don't have a slide already cut (MOS style) for a RDS.
SO. you either need the plate and no sights, or run sights and no RDS.

I haven't seen any rear sight RDS adapter plate except for what Burris offers. That will limit you to a Fast Fire 3 RDS.

Swapping out sights isn't hard if you have the tools to do it. If you don't have the front sight super skinny nut driver and rear sight tool. It might be more cost effective to $$ someone.

Please PM a price and I'll see if it's in the budget.

Arg, I was afraid of that... due to the width.

No, on the G19, I do not need sights. Just wanted the RDS, but wanted to make sure the RDS would clear a suppressor. On the G43 (daily carry) I wanted to swap the regular sights for the night sites.

I see I have a lot to do then...

Thanks for the info. Ya'll are mighty informative.

The RDS will clear the suppressor height. However you need an adapter for the rear sight, which will no longer be used. Yes you have a lot to do. Mostly decide if you want to opt for the FF3 and mount. OR buy one of these slides
