Default For those who "thought" the RED FLAG law would be a good thing

Like they'd never abuse it. CA once again shows how fuked legal gun owners are.

U.S.California Moves To Let Schools, Co-workers 'Red Flag' Dangerous G
Lawmakers in the California Assembly voted Monday to advance a bill that would
authorize employers, co-workers and school personnel to request the temporary confiscation of guns from individuals determined to pose a danger to themselves or others.
The legislation, AB 2888, would build on California’s existing “red flag” law

    Surely this won't be abused.

How is this different than any other red flag law?

I believe other red flag laws only allow immediate relatives to flag you, this new law.pretty much allows anyone to flag you.

By greatly increasing the number of people that can decide you shouldn't have guns... Earlier ones were family members and law enforcement (I think)...

Schools? The same schools that already tried to punish a student who simply went shooting at a nice safe controlled range with his father? And co-workers? I'd bet everyone has some crazy/bitchy/asshole co-worker who would report you in a second and lie to make you sound like the crazy one.

And what did those other laws do to prevent someone who isn't your immediate family member from contacting the police?

Just wait for it, someone in a red flag state will red flag someone in another state, and that person will all of a sudden be a prohibited person.

Just cause I am paranoid, doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get me

I've seen some nasty divorces. Ones where there were accusations of domestic violence, abuse and on and on. The cops get involved and someone has to go to jail. Add this fuel to the fire and I don't see a good outcome.

Some of these shooters had ample red flags and nothing was done. Seems like another way to abuse the system with law abiding citizens.

That’s exactly what it is, a back door. Everything to deal with active shooters is already in place and unused.
