To answer the original question seriously, it could be considered theft, theft by receiving, whatever. So long as the glock tank'er reported it as stolen. Then secondary to that - yes an unlawful transfer. Which the seller could be responsible for

About 10 years ago I worked downtown and used to find guns. Usually junk. I'd call the police to give it to them. Turns out you don't get to claim it if no one comes for it. At the time, I looked into it and was state or Fed law. You're better of finding money.
