    Default Ute Park fire

We saw the smoke plume yesterday afternoon. It looks a little closer than it actually is, supposedly it is around 40 or 50 miles away. Stay safe thevigil. I know that is a lot closer to your area. When I looked it up, it was reported at 2 PM yesterday and around 150 acres. I told the wife it looked more like a few thousand by the plume.

Up to 16,500 acres and now Cimarron is evacuated. It is pretty smokey in Raton, so the Sporting rifle shoot is going to be a little rough on the lungs this weekend.

Guess what the emergency manager that hasn't slept 39 hours is still doing. We are plus 20,000 and growing. 1100 evac from cimarron and 1100 staff from philmont. This ones going to be well above 60000. My real guess is 100000 or more. Seeing some really weird fire behaviour out of this one.Type 1 team is taking over tonight. Maybe I get a few hours in the bed of the truck tonight. I sound like I'm complaining but I'm a pig in slop right now.

there's another fire to the west that started Sunday afternoon in Horse Park (south of Naturita and Norwood). It was 1,100 acres at last check but 80% contained. They were hoping for a break from the winds but they didn't get it today. Hoping to hell it doesn't spread anymore.
