At 150, I would probably get a 357 version and experiment with heavy for caliber "puff" loads for fun
-
The appeal to me is three-fold:
- price (which means I won't care as much if this firearm gets beat-up, lost, or stolen)
- single-shot (probably the last firearm to ever get banned; inherently easier to fix, maintain, etc)
- ability to use sub-caliber adapters, like these: https://www.gunadapters.com/
There's a YouTuber who pairs single shot shotguns with sub-caliber adapters and does a lot of accuracy testing:
So the thinking is that with something like this (or any other break-action firearm, like an over-under) and a whole bunch of caliber adapters, you can use whatever you happen to have on you (or whatever you can forage/harvest, barter for, etc). A true emergency firearm.
