    Default How government works

    Let me get this straight.

We’re going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose head says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by a president that also hasn’t read it, and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that’s broke.

    What possibly could go wrong?

Exactly! And those are probably the good points of the bill.

I once read: If you enjoy sausage or the law, its best if you don't see how either is made..

I'm pissed as hell over this. It will do exactly the opposite of what it is intended to do. It will make healthcare MORE expensive for everyone except for those who already qualify for the government freebies anyway.

As I stated on a similar thread the other day, the way I see it, this bill will only benefit the insurance companies... It will bankrupt the rest of us either directly or indirectly.

It is a profoundly sad thing to to not recognize one's own country. This is not my country anymore....

Good ol' America... land of dreams... lol.

Unfortunately, the mass of sheeple's voted (or didn't vote at all) for this. What does that say about our education system and values?

Sidenote: It's been anaylzed that all major societies/empires (Babylonian, Roman, Greecian, Indian, et al) crashed after the thousand year mark and the changing decisions could be traced to around the 400 year mark... America is only about 250 or so? We might set a record! lol.

    On the short list:

    Here's how gubment works.

Make promises, get elected, screw the promises, take the money for your pals, get more power for yourself, TELL the people what the need not what they want, make closed door meetings transparent but not for the public.
send US jobs everywhere but here, (see pals above). It makes no differnce what party, they are all POLITICIANS.

And we all can add to this.....

Just in case there was any doubt about how this was going to get financed, let me tell you about how the tax rates have already started to go up.

As many of you already know, I am retired military and rely on my monthly retirement check to supplement my income. This year was the first time in 25 years that military retirees did not get a COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) to their retirement pay because inflation has been kept in check due to the weak economy. Okay, no big deal. I can make sacrifices just like the rest of the country and make do with what I got. But then I got the notification from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) that "due to resent legislation" the taxes on gross pay are going up. The result is I am actually going to take a reduction in net retirement pay!

WTF! I am going to have to make due with less because I am getting taxed more because I am a military retiree?! This is total BULLSHIT! I am all for paying my fair share but just tell me why we are being singled out?!

Let's see: only 40% of American's want any form of government run health care. And 40% of Americans pay no income tax whatsoever. What a coincidence.~Jay Galt
