So what you are saying is... he's actually a closet Democrat? The KKK, Racism and being generally hateful is their bread and butter.

He's white and has an (R) after his name, even if like me his ancestors were active abolitionists the media is going to call him KKK, racist, Hate Monger etc. and a non white Republican will be called an uncle tom (or whatever the equivalent is for their race) so I don't see how it matters who we put up regarding that leftist tactic (which is not working all that well for them anymore).

This is my thinking. I don't think Colorado will ever have another Republican governor nor will Republicans ever gain in the legislature. I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I doubt I am.

Truth is, every day I sit here unemployed I think I should just put my house up for sale and move back to America while I can still get a stupid amount of money for this place.

But hey, I'm by nature a pessimist so maybe it truly always is darkest just before the dawn and CO will turn around before it flies off the CA cliff.

Come with me to Oklahoma, Zund. Depending on what you owe vs how high you sell, it's possible you could buy a property in the Tulsa area outright, or with a mortgage so small it would make your head spin.

A handful of things. For one thing I'm currently unemployed (but I guess that actually makes it easier as I could expand my job search to other areas).
I actually love everything about living in Colorado except for the politics. Being originally from Kansas I really don't want to return to the heat and humidity, I love the mountains and I love the cool, dry weather. So it'll have to get a little (but only a little) worse for me to actually leave (I can understand all those California Republicans that still allow themselves to suffer under much more oppressive Democrat rule).

I keep holding out hope that things will get better here even though I don't really believe they will. But I'll feel stupid if I move away from Colorado just months before a Republican Governor gets voted in or something like that

When we left Kansas, Kathleen Sibelius had just won election for Governess, they didn't have legal concealed carry and IIRC suppressors were illegal. Now they've got one of the most conservative Republican governments in the country, Constitutional Carry and Suppressors are legal ... so change is possible (but then again Kansas doesn't have legal weed attracting Democrats from all over the country).
