Democratic governor ad campaigns no longer mention guns?

You can't watch TV for 5 minutes without seeing an ad for one of the Dem governor candidates. Cary Kennedy is getting slammed hard for her deceptive ads about her fellow dems, and she seems to be laying low.

Johnston seems to be buying air time by the millions. Funny thing, though, a month ago they couldn't mention guns enough. "Assault Weapons", "Bump Stocks" "School Shootings" and now all of a sudden within the last week or so they seem to have scrubbed almost all mention of guns from their ads.

If I was to guess I'd say it's because the polling of likely dem voters shows that unless it's in the IMMEDIATE aftermath of a high profile shooting, most Dem voters just don't care that much about gun control.

I know they are mentioning education in wake of all the teacher protests, and again my assumption is that the professional consultants are telling the candidates that these are the issues that will drive likely voters one way or another.

It would be nice to think that perhaps one of the reasons the front runners like Polis and Johnston no longer mention guns is because they are afraid the issue could hurt them in the general election (and I'm sure it will) but I don't think they're thinking that far ahead.

Anyone else notice this?

And where are the Republican candidates? I think I've seen 3 ads for Walker Stapleton and one or two ads for that guy who looks like an older version of Ray Romano from "Everybody Loves Raymond" (Vic something?) But the Dems have been HAMMERING away on local TV.

Not one D or left leaning voter cares or gives a sheet about any ads denouncing the NRA, assault weapons, bump stock or BGC's. They already know their selection will push that agenda w/out running on said platform.
