Default Dog needs a forever home

My wife and I took a pup in tonight that was in a bad way. Poor guy was on a 6’ chain, on concrete. He was left outside all the time in heat, rain, and even the recent hailstorm, no shelter, eating occasional tortillas and beans. A good samaritan neighbor was able to convince the owner to relinquish the dog to her, and my wife and I agreed to foster him until we could find him a forever home.

He’s probably around 3-4, guessing 75-80lbs. Looks like a lab mix of sorts. He’s skittish around people, but not aggressive - he lets me pick him up and carry him. He really lights up around other dogs, started wagging and interacting with our two dogs right off the bat. And he’s not cat aggressive - our cat walked right up to him and sniffed him head to toe, and he didn’t eat her. Poor guy will need some work to learn to trust people, but you can tell he’s a really good dog. He hasn’t peed on anything inside, is being a gentleman.

If anybody has room for a new soul, give me a holler. This guy has earned a break. We are already at the “tail limit” for Edgewater, or we’d just keep him. We’ll get him neutered and all his shots.

If anybody has an idea for a name, shout it out.

    Looks like a lab/rhino mix.

Yup. Nine months old. She just discovered bunnies and her life will never be the same.

I think this is the first time he’s been given a pillow. He’s figuring it out.

I have someone looking for a dog, but don't expect this is something that will pique their interest. I've passed this along anyway, just in case.
