At $30K/gram, I would expect that the legal and regulatory compliance issues still outweigh the cost of the raw material.

My first thought as well, Amerigo was my reasonably priced alternative to Trijicon.

I hope they don't kill the i-dot sights, perhaps that's why Trijicon purchased them?
