It seems to me recently that the American Left has become like the Khmer Rouge or Mao's Revolutionary Guard while the MSM resembles nothing so much as Stalinist Pravda. The incidents this past week and Democrat defense of Maxine Waters' terroristic incitement are just scary. The Republican Party is no longer the party of Richard Nixon (thank God!) and the Democrat Party is no longer the party of Daniel Patrick Moynihan or Harry Truman (more's the pity). How can they not see just how violently extreme they have become?

The Left has gone way beyond delusional and deceptive and is full-bore dangerous.

Of course they would. The difference is in the evidence we see every day. You don't see people from the right doing and saying the same kinds of things that come from the left. On the (far less often) occasion it does, it's quickly condemned by the right. The complete and irrational hatred of Trump is unlike anything I've ever seen. And the comparisons made by the left of Trump to Hitler or Nazi Germany? Seriously? Have these people ever read a book? It's just insane. And it's coming from educated people, many in the leftist media.

I'm with AS. Every time I think the left has reached the maximum heights of hypocrisy and hatred, someone adds another rung on the ladder. I'm almost speechless with the some of the things we're seeing today. Foremost among them is the complete and total erosion of an objective and unbiased media. The bias has been bad and clearly evident since the Reagan presidency. But they at least made some attempts at hiding it. All that changed after Bush II won, it seems. The left and the leftist media are completely unhinged from reality.

To be fair, I've heard a pretty fair number of democrats speak out against some of the recent goings on from the likes of Auntie Maxine and a few others. But I don't think the "outcry" (I know...that's a stretch) is genuine. I believe any democrat speaking out against the leftist loons is simply trying to CYA ahead of the midterms. After that, you won't hear a peep until the next election cycle.

I'm just astounded by what passes for normal leftist belief and behavior these days. They're completely off the rails. There is no far left fringe in the democrat party any longer. The fringe is now the center.

Among her issues is expanding the Medicare program to people of all ages and abolishing Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). She recently went to Tornillo, Texas, to protest against policies that have separated parents from their children at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Ocasio-Cortez is an admitted socialist and former Bernie campaign manager. She beat the incumbent democrat that was seen as Pelosi's likely successor...a guy who's been in congress for 20 years and one of the most powerful democrats in the House.

This is the clear direction of the democrat party.

Now I know that everyone who votes democrat isn't a socialist. But what democrat voters don't seem to understand is even when they vote for a not-so-radical-leftist-democrat they're still supporting a party that has gone off the rails to the left. There is no "moderate" democrat party any longer. The democrat party is now so far left that it isn't recognizable as one of the two main political parties from just 10 years ago. This is Obama's legacy and it's going to haunt us for the remainder of our lives.

I saw that too, a democratic socialist is just another communist. Just like in 1917 Russia, the people who sided with Lenin had NO idea what was coming.

This has been building for quit some time. While I agree that more than a few Dems have spoken out against Water's little call to action, they were pretty much forced to this time. For many years they have been quietly encouraging it...or at least not discouraging it.

Look at all the times they used got a group of people the "push back" and shutdown conservative speakers? Hell, they were even able to force the cancellation of (or delay) of a Trump rally at one point IIRC. The violent Berkley (and other) riots to shutdown Milo Yuannopiulos. Ann Coulter has been getting "pushed back" on for years. Ben Shapiro. All the nameless folks who have been assaulted for wearing MAGA hats. And many, many others.

Some DHS employee just woke up to find a burned animal corpse on their doorstep last week as a threat relating to the immigration nonsense.

The Dem politicians just typically leave it up to nameless citizens to carry it out. Waters just made the mistake of openly supporting it in public instead of keeping it to herself like a good liberal politician should. This sort of mob rule, shout down and even assault dissidents is one of the left's main strategies. Has been for decades. Hell, Rules for Radicals was published in 1971, right? The left has just found a large group and new generation of supporters that are willing to go all-in, after decades of brainwashing them in public schools and University.

This ship can't be turned around IMO. Folks are nearly whipped into a frenzy by Dem politicians and the MSM. That sort of emotional reaction just doesn't calm down naturally.
