Well, really, wouldn't delaying until after the mid-terms be a smart move by the GOP?

Absolutely not. It gives democrats time to do everything they need to do to stop this nomination. If they win the senate in Nov you can forget about this seat being filled by a conservative. There won't be time and there will be even less incentive for chickenshits like Flake to do their jobs.

Democrats will use this week to energize their base even more than the frenzied condition they're in now. There is no good that will come of more delays.

Given that Trump has now ordered the investigation of Kavanaugh in regard to this farce, I have a sneaking suspicion that the outcome is already pretty well known.

My guess is that this will yield nothing new, and may in fact be used to discredit Ford, so that it can't be an election killer for the GOP.

The one good thing about Flake's request, is that it makes the likelihood of the dems successfully trotting out another paid "he touched me" political prostitute very low. Being a narrow scope investigation, and limited in time, even when the dims bring out the next political hooker, it won't be included in the investigation. Or least that's how I'm reading what is going on.

But, I'm not a political scientist, so I could very well be wrong.

All I know is that we need to see Kavanaugh confirmed, or we are going to permanently lose our country to the ultra liberal fawkwads.

Exactly. It doesn't matter how positive the outcome is for Kavanaugh it's not going to change the minds of democrats. This just emboldens them to demand more and more.

Can you imagine what the next person on the short-list of nominees is thinking about now? We're eventually gonna get to the point that republican presidents will be looking at municipal night court judges to fill seats because no one else will take the job simply because they don't want to be subjected to democrat character assassinations. They sure as hell won't want it for their families, either.
