Greenland Experience?

Here’s a long shot, has anyone ever visited or been stationed in Greenland?
I am leaving next week on a contract to teach firearm operations in Greenland for 12 days and (shockingly) I have never been to the island before. We will be instructing in a costal area and then two glacier camps (camp Raven and Summit camp). Ski skid C130’s will be used for transport to the inland glacier camps.
Anyone with Greenland or arctic circle experience?

That is the root cause of the requested firearms training...
I plan on taking a ton of pictures and will post them in this thread when I get back stateside.

I never have been to Greenland, but I have been to Goose Bay, Canada. Flying over it I never realized there were so many islands. Huge wilderness is unbelievable. We were in a C-130. There was no civilization for hundreds of miles from the base. In Greenland you will be thousands of miles from civilization. It is the worlds largest island with 55 thousand people on it. It is a third larger in size than Alaska. It is going to be cool weather. It was always a joke in the Air Force that you screw up, you get sent to Thule Air Base. 76 degrees north is way up there! Should be a nice break from this heat.
