Supersonic bullets do get hot enough to ignite dry, thin, combustables. It is not common, but it has occurred at indoor and outdoor ranges.

I think I'm taking some revolvers to Bristle Cone to get my fix. I do hate paying to shoot, and getting my brass swept down range.

Just let the range officer know you are collecting your brass, and they won't sweep it past the firing line. I end up bringing home more brass than I shoot almost every time.

Why regret a fun day of shooting if, by some unimaginable fluke, you were responsible for a fire during Colorado's current fire danger?
Archery sounds like a great alternative.

Break open the wallet for some high end crossbow action, ….and you won't be disappointed.

I'm still considering some compound bow options, but I'm really happy with the crossbows that I do have.
