I could do this, but will have to order material and it would be layered for each color, not printed in different colors. (We have a cutter, not a printer)

^this 100% I'm In the same boat I dont have solubale printer but a vinyl cutter.
Would have to order some oracle 651 (5-7 year outdoor life) in all the colors and then apply on color at a time. Shouldn't be too much of a thickness difference layering so I wouldnt worry about the vinyl affecting game play but I couldn't guarantee it wouldnt ether. We will Need to know dimensions and count to figure out how much vinyl to order.

Hit up Otec first because I'm not jacking anyones gig.

Using cheap vinyl as a stencil and painting the board may be a better option. As Mazin said, the layers could impact how the bags slide.

Yep and ether rolled very very thin but it would still leave a small texture (paint would still be layering so there would be differences in height like vinyl just not as pronounced) or you can spray it but with latex your going to have a texture no matter what. My next question would be do that have "preferred paint" or is it not that stringent.

If I were to do this right, I would decal stencil and spray, then a layer or 2 of clear, sand, and clear again.

Absolutely, this is a roll job with vinyl stencil and you can feel the star on the top as well as the over all texture change and a general light tack feeling.
