    Default bulk reman supplier?

I was a Freedom Munitions purchaser for awhile, haven't bought much ammo last few years due to other things. Started looking at another shipment and saw the quality dropped and now are essentially out of business. Looks like I happened to slow my purchases from them about the right time. That kind of karma never happens to me, so I should expect the return of Murphy, right? So I need to find a new supplier. I do use the web crawlers to find cheap deals, but I do like a reliable source of decently cheap and basic ammo. For discussion purposes, 223 and 308, plinking and fun use. What companies are currently reasonable suppliers of reman ammo?

For the mood slappers who would tell me to go do research while looking down their nose, yeah buddy, I am doing that too, but looking for input from others who have fresh experience. Relax already.

Your choice of a Dillon 650 or 550. In the long run it's worth it.

if not, this forum member has some outstanding deals on bulk

Kazoo beat me. If you shoot a lot you have to reload. Then when a super sale happens, BOOM!! BUY LOTS!!!! A few years back Tula Russian primers were so cheap, you could have bought a life time supply for the cost of feeding a hungry kid in another country.

Sorry, not exactly what you were asking. Or be a baller and order one of those 55 gallon drums of Lake City Ammo.

You can buy new brass case 223 for $272/1000 now. That's pretty darn low compared to anything but reloading. Why go reman?

I have a reloading setup. The problem is time....I don't have it. I can carve out a few minutes to go out back and plink a bit, try to keep skills up. Reload? Love to. Maybe in the future.

Why reman? Generally cheaper. I care not a whit about grouping. My eyesight on irons means anything quality is wasted money. I do stock better stuff that will be relied on. Fun stuff? Just about the cheapest I can find.

If you're okay with steel case you can buy new ammo cheaper than brass-cased reman. You can usually get a 1000 rounds of Wolf Gold new for about $20 more than 1000 rounds of reman. I stopped shooting Freedom .223 reman because I could always get Wolf Gold cheaper.

So.... there is not currently a bulk supplier filling the hole left by Freedom?

Wolf Gold is fine stuff for my needs. I guess I will just keep my eyes open for deals when they come around.

I don't think anyone is going to be as big in the reman game as what Freedom is/was.

Freedom bought up several smaller companies, the WalMart of the ammo business. There are some out there, but few as cheap as they were. If I were to go buy bulk reman ammo, I think I would look at Atlanta Arms and Black Hills.

But I have seen new 9mm for $200/case on sale and under $300 for 5.56, so yeah, right now, might as well buy new.

I've bought several ammo cans of 9mm and .223 reloads from "Ammo Kanz" at the Tanner shows. I'm pretty sure they spell their name with a K and Z, but it could also be "Ammo Kans". It's been reliable and fair priced. I just consider the entry fee to equate to shipping, but without the wait...
