Default New to me Browning Gun Safe

I was very lucky to find this Browning absolutely free listed on Facebook here in the Springs just this past Wednesday. Went with a few friends Saturday morning and picked it up. The catch was it was in a basement and also the owner had forgotten the combination but it does have the dial lock & key. If I can get an override code that will be a plus or I'll buy a new one online and swap it out. I just wanted to share this as it’s not every day you get a free Browning safe. Photo's even though they are small will not upload here.

Now that you've posted this, you HAVE to post a picture of what's inside when you open it. Or better yet, stream some live video. It will be like Geraldo Rivera and Al Capone's safe all over again!

LOL.... BTW... I do have it home and I guess I was not clear on that. Four men and some dunnage and we pulled it right up the stairs and the landing. Was a bit of a pain but only 2.5 hours got her home. I'm good to go on delivery and now focused on the sheetrock in the door that was cracked just a little.

If that is S&G lock it is easy to reset the combination. There is a tool/key that you stick in the back of the lock that lets you dial in the new combination. If you have the key and know what you are doing it only takes a couple of minutes to reset it. You need access to the back of the lock so when you have that liner piece off to replace it would be a good time to do it.

There is a serial number on the back of a lot of safes. I don't if it would be needed for anything but now would be the time to write it down somewhere. Maybe on the inside of the safe.

Nice score! Let me know if we can help with either resetting a new combo or setting you up with a complete new lock.

He still needs the current combo to change to a new combo without opening the lock body...which sounds like he doesn't have a combo for it.

Opie, I just now received the override code from Browning. Its a four digit code and I'm sure you already know this.. I can't change it from this four digit code after all this. Still need a lock smith to change my code. Is the process something with the tool that SAnd mention and I can do or must I have a smith "YOU" come to make this change for me? Unless I want to stick with a four digit and I guess I could.

SAnd, I appreciate that very much. Was looking around online at digital and I don't really care to upgrade to digital and the spin dial does it for me. I'll be on this if I can't get it resolved. I just had Deputy leave here from Shefiff's Office and did a Serial Number Verification and a report form so I can now contact Browning and see if they will give me an override code. If not your suggestion will be my next path. Thanks
