    Default FAL Build- Gunsmith Recomendations

Hi Guys- been out of the loop for over a year, but I'm getting back into the swing of things.
I have a FAL complete parts kit including a DSA receiver that I inherited from my son.
He bought it between deployments and it has been sitting in a box for the last four years.
I can do AR's and even M-14's but know nothing about FAL's.
Any recommendations on front range gunsmiths that can do the build in a reasonable amount of time?
    Thanks!

I have a receiver wrench, barrel vise and pins to measure headspace if you want to wrench it together in the garage some afternoon. I’m pretty busy right now but depending on your timeline might be able to work something out. I would only be offering instruction while you turn the wrench.

Otherwise The guy (john appelman) that runs the gunsmith shop “Appelwerks” in the basement of Gunsport in Boulder is a FAL guy and has built a number of them over the years. Hickman Firearms down in the springs does FALs as well.

FALs are reletively easy yet it’s amazing how badly some people fuck them up, due diligence is required when looking for a smith.

    A couple of my builds

I'd check with John if you have his contact info. 'Thought" he was no longer there based on another persons interaction with him. But who knows, he may still be there.

It's possible I haven't spoken to him or been in his shop in a couple years myself. He helped with my first FAL back around 2009ish.

Thanks for the offer! The barrel is already mounted on the receiver and, (theoretically), head spaced. The real question is do I have the right parts in the right quantities. Most of the exploded diagrams on the internet are poor quality.
    Thanks again...

Like others have said, Easy but I have fixed many a bad build. I quit doing that long ago after being burned. The worst thing ever is someone with a dremel trying to fix an issue or "improve" one with it. Good luck with your build. If it is barrelled and headspaced correctly your 80% there.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.

He has moved on to a state agency as their 'smith.
