Been looking to replace my current '02 Arctic Cat 500 with an '18 Textron Alterra VLX 700 EPS.

I saw them @ Bass Pro Shops here in the Springs and after much debate I decided I was going to get a black one. This store only only keeps one in stock - the showroom model and will only replace it once it sells. I looked over the one they had and weeks of every lookie-loo and their kids climbing all over it left it with plenty of scuffs. I know it'll get plenty of scuffs once I buy and use it, but I want all of the scuffs to be MINE, and I don't care to find Joe Dirt's kids booger tucked under a fender once I get it home.

I had the Springs Bass Pro order another one for me and it came in Monday; after more than 2 weeks. I went to check it out today and it was still in the crate behind the store. I noticed the tarp-side of teh crate was torn open so I looked in and found the right rear fender and all abraised and even had some friction melting on it. Not buying that one unless it gets fixed which means replacing the entire rear fender (both sides)/rear deck (it's one piece). Bass Pro already told me that they would not/could not adjust the price for this damage.

Also looking to buy accessories for this thing (rear & front bumpers, Warn 3k winch, windshield assembly) and I know Bass Pro doesn't have the best prices on these (which they'd have to order since they don't carry ANY in stock. With the add-on's, I can still keep it under $8k but get the equiv of a $12k+ ATV by getting this model.

So, anyone here have or work @ an ATV dealership that carries Textron's?

BMMC works at sun honda in the denver area. I've never ran an A Cat. I stuck with polaris or hondas and never had a reason to switch.

Big D is who performs all of the PMI/routine maintenance on my 2 existing Arctic Cat's (a 375 and a 500; both of which which I'll be looking to sell soon). They're good people, but their prices seemed a bit high when I looked at their new stuff a few years back. I'll probably reach out to them to see if they can get anywhere near Bass Pro's price for this ATV since they're the closest Arctic Cat/Textron dealer to the Springs.

While Polaris and Honda make really good ATV's, they know it and their prices reflect that. Arctic Cat (now Textron) has always been an outstanding ATV but without the pricing that goes with the more mainstream brands. With the accessories I mentioned above, I can get the Textron VLX 700 with EPS at under $8k but would pay at least $12k for a Polaris of the same caliber. I've found my 2 Arctic Cat's to be well made and very reliable. I just refuse to throw my money away simply for a brand name. (Before someone calls me on it, I know that there are some amazing Chinese ATV's on the market now for even less than $8k, but I just don't trust Chinese products and prefer to stick with an American company)

I understand, I never actually paid for mine as they were all farm or company owned. If I were paying for them I'd look into the same things you are.

Just want to throw it out there, but have you ridden machines other than arctic cat? I found AC to be very top heavy and more prone to rolling than all other brands.
If you want a great machine you can get a Yamaha grizzly or kodiak for very close to the same price, or for a bit more canam makes the best machines on the market.

You might also talk to Sun about leftover Honda’s. Farmers and ranchers love Honda but they don’t market as well to the normal outdoor enthusiast and end up with machines sitting around for a while that you can get a good deal on. When I was shopping they had a couple Honda Rincon’s that were 2 models years old that were nicely priced.

I ended up going for the canams and don’t regret it one bit
