    Default Getting Started with Matches

Participating in a shooting match sounds like fun, but I've never even been to one. I'm not sure where to start I guess.
Any suggestions on one to attend near the Springs that would be fun for a first timer?

One of Hoser's cus they're usually low stress and run well.

There's also Pikes Peak Precision Rifle matches: https://www.pikespeakprecision.com/schedule/

I've never been to one since they are held on one of my work days. It's my understanding the guys who run them are good to go though.

    +1 on Hoser run events.

There is a match for most all types of shooting.

Check out the link GK posted and there are tons of YouTube videos for matchs/competition.

There are literally close to 50 different styles of competition now, which is great, but they appeal to folks differently. Straight Line, Action Shooting and Clay targets are the three main categories with at several different styles within each one. Just a few...

Oh, so this thread isn't about his an arsonist began his life of crime? /sarcasm

I'm glad this topic came up. I've been meaning to get out to some of Hoser's matches for some time to see how things run. I figured I wasn't the only one.

No idea. Honestly. I'd probably have something suitable for, and have fun at, most any of them.

Where does one find out about those weekend shoots?

Thanks for the tip! It's 2 hours out from me, but my son and I might run out to see what's going on.
