Default I saved a life today

That’s right. This little critter would likely have met his end under my lawnmower this morning if I didn’t gather him up and place him in a flower pot on the porch. I promptly released him when I was done mowing.

If he wasn’t about the size of a large mouse and cute as a button I likely wouldn’t have had as much sympathy for him. Who knows, when he is a little older if our paths cross I might even be the one to end him for messing up my lawn.

I've lived in my house for over 20 years... never seen as many rabbits around the yard and neighborhood as I have this year.

In my backyard, that's just a bigger challenge to head-shot with the air rifle.

We've had a rabbit coming in daily. He eats the dandelions.

Aw, he's so cute. The baby bunnies around here are about the size of little fuzzy apples with ears.

It's probably still suckling off of mom. I'm curious Ray, how are they messing up your lawn? Don't they help with mowing and fertilizing?

We have lots of rabbits around our Palisade home and enjoy watching them. They eat grass and some other native plants but never do any damage other than an occasional spring nest burrow.

Glad you didn't run him over, he's adorable. Your experience ended better than mine did 22 years ago.

I was mowing the grass for a subdivision and the grasshopper I was riding hit a whole family of baby rabbits. I had no idea until it was too late and saw them flying through the air. I was so heartbroken over that. only one survived out of 7.

We have a ton of 'em. I enjoy having them around to watch. I've never seen them damage anything. There's a stray cat that got into a nest of baby bunnies in the brush in front of the house and killed 5 of them just because it could. That cat is on my shit list. Got close to being removed from the list yesterday...but he got lucky.
