Default Most famous bands from every state

Came across this article. Seems like there might be room for debate. Who is familiar with every single one?

Surprised on quite a few of them. I had no idea 311 (one of my favorite bands) was from Nebraska, and the Ramones being the most famous from New York surprised me, but upon looking, The Beastie Boys, Steely Dan, or the Wu Tang clan are likely the closest contenders there. Plenty of good bands have come from California, but Metallica was a given, and One Republic surprised me as being the Colorado band of choice, but again, after looking, not much else worthy of picking.

I figure they are going on album sales to judge level of Fame. Isn't The Fray from here? We've got quite a few popular bands in the last two decades it seems like.

Papper?!?!?! Never even heard of them, no idea where the heck they get this from. The only thing I can think of is musicians from Hawaii that are well known tend to be soloists or duos so probably don't qualify as "bands" but I'm sure more people heard the Beamer Brothers' "Honolulu City Lights" or ""Kaliponi Slack Key" than have ever heard of Pepper.

Pepper was played on the radio all the time for several years.

Pepper has a Sublime'ish sound to their music, was just listening to them last night, good band if you like that sort of music.

Can’t get the article to pull up on my phone but there was a ton of talent from the small corner of southeast Texas where I grew up.

George Jones, ZZ Top, Janis Joplin, Edgar Winter, etc.
