Oldest off to college

Dropping mine off today, bitter sweet. I have to make sure my wife does not hide in the closet and is fact in the car on the drive back.

Cheaper to send kids out of state. Colorado ranks 47th in funding for colleges. Spoke to a financial aide suit from CSU about cost and lack of scholarships. He was very defensive. Told me “CSU is a business. Why would we give your child a free education when we can charge a student from Kalifornia $40k a year or a student from Saudi Arabia $60k? Asshole. Noticed he drove a BMW too so business must be real good. High taxes, booming economy, and weed everywhere. Not sure what our Legislature and Governor spend the $ on. Sure as hell not going to road maintenance and tuition. Maybe it goes towards the super successful powerhouse football team we have up here at CSU?

Yup. Things to remember when they ask for taxpayers to relieve students of their debt.

You’re looking at this from the wrong angle. I darn near threw a party when the kids left.

One of them was forced to move back in (with his wife) about a year ago and looks like they’ll be moving to Wyoming soon.

Think maybe I will throw a party this time.

We are in Des Moines IA now - 660 miles and it took 12 hours- I am driving with my wife, oldest daughter and my 8 year old daughter and they all want to stop all the dam time.
Ray - I still have 3 at home and she was a good babysitter and driver- lol.

That right there was 50% of the deciding factor to learn a skilled trade for me. But I had a lot of friend pay that much for CSU and could get a job afterwords.

Luckily I have 12 more years untill I have to deal with this. Dropping him off for first grade on Tuesday. Already telling him he needs scholarships or to join the navy.

Those tuition bills will sting a bit, unless there's a sports scholarship involved. My son is eyeballing DU as his goal . . . I better get a few more jobs.

Currently attending DU. Very happy so far.
