I bought a used commercial one when I bought my house. It was a foreclosure and beyond stinky. Cheap ones weren't really around back then. Worked fantastic. I've used it a ton, even on a stinky car I bought. As said above, concentrated ozone can ruin things, and some people are sensitive to ozone. If you have one you'll likely use it more than once. And people will want to borrow it too.

Used at dealerships for years, they work great in most circumstances. Every once in a while one would have some residual. Make sure you run both the heat, vent and AC while you are doing in. The smoke smell hides in the ductwork and you'll think its gone and then you turn on the AC and bam.

I own a commercial unit that I use in my cigar room. Works well. You're welcome to borrow it, but we're not too close to each other.

Anyone post some experiences with how to use whole house or room by room only.

We have indoor dogs and other pets, and while we don't have accidents happen, still is like faintly musty.

Would also like the procedure for vehicles if anyone cares to share, as well as a recommendation on a decent unit.

Interesting to hear about the plastics!!! I'm the kind of idiot that would put it in my truck and let it run overnight.

Here's a cleaning tip for the yellow nicotine stains left behind on surfaces- it works for walls in homes, and I would expect that it would also work for vehicle interiors (to a certain extent): LA Awesome, sold at the dollar store effectively removes the build-up. I use it in my carpet cleaner, and it helps remove stains and general grunge. You must dilute it, and don't use it on glass- ammonia and soapy water will work for glass- but it's an excellent cleaner.

We'd leave them in cars for entire days, sometimes overnight depending on the size of car and smell. Never saw an issue.
