One thing I learned on CL- if your item doesn't sell in a reasonable time at your asking price delete the post. Relist it 2 days later at the original price but mark the title as "Price Reduced".

I do the opposite. New price = new ad and pictures. Personally, if I see the same item listed for sale for awhile with the price dropping, I assume something maybe wrong with it. I recently contacted a guy about a motorcycle for sale and after talking to him on the phone, it had tons off issues that were not listed in his "runs excellent" ad.
