Default Latest addition to the family

We picked up Sparky today from Big Bones Canine Rescue. He's a Yellow Lab, born April 1st and cool as hell. He won't leave my side right now.

We'll pick up another Yellow Lab, Donovan, in a few weeks after he's fixed and all healed up. He's a few weeks younger.

Huge shout out to Big Bones. These folks were top notch and a pleasure to work with.

    Congrats!

    He's a cute little bugger.

Every time I see one of these threads, I want to go find a dog, but I just don't have the time to make it fair for a dog.

Nice looking pup. Nothing quite like the love of a faithful friend.

Was that outfit a suggestion you got off of here? I remember you said you didn't want a black dog, but only had guesses as to why. I figured with you being in the mountains, you didn't want to ever confuse it with a bear.

Did he come with any training? He looks very laid back for how young he is. I couldn't get our dog to hold still when we first brought her home.

A coworker used Big Bones and his wife ended up volunteering for them. I hooked up with them, got all verified as an acceptable adopter and they kept me posted when new dogs came in so I'd be first to check them out. Pretty cool.

My wife just doesn't like black dogs for some odd reason. All of my dogs have been goldens or yellow labs, so I was cool with that.

No training. I've been preparing myself, wife and the kids for the mayhem of a new puppy in the house, but I'm impressed with how chill he was when he first got here. We'll see how he does tomorrow. He's sleeping on the couch next to me right now. I'd say he's pretty relaxed.
