    Default Bullet casting alloys

Anyone have a good local source for purchasing alloy for casting bullets? I like softer alloys like 2% tin, 2% antimony and I've got plenty of linotype if I need to harden a batch of ingots. I know I can buy lead from scrap yards, but wondering about purchasing specific alloys locally to avoid shipping.

Locally? That would be good to know about! All I've ever heard of is Rotometals, I think they're in CA.

Based on the lack of responses I guess there isn't a good local source, although I am going to check into Atlas metals. If I can get good clean 100% lead from them I've got Lino and tin to make whatever alloy I want. I've got about 800 pounds of wheel weights sitting here but sometimes I just don't have time to smelt them down, flux the crap out of them and make ingots for later casting. I'd like to start with known good ingots when I don't have time for the smelting.

Find out who buys lead from local shooting ranges. Make a deal with indoor ranges for there lead. Hassle to melt the jacket material but you can sell it.
If you use powder coating instead of traditional lube, you can cast and shoot most any lead alloy.
Ebay and craiglist and Castbollits.com all had people selling lead.
