I ran into three pretty close at Wild Basin RMNP a few weeks ago.

Great, now Russia is even invading our moose population.

All the bull moose I've seen lately are younger animals. This morning a yearling bull walked through the yard about 15 feet from me. He has pretty much scraped all the velvet off his antlers. But wow, I'm looking for one like the big fella on the left. Moose rifle season begins Oct. 1st.
It's a darn shame I can't hunt Wild Basin, and those bulls are unlikely to move out of the North St. Vrain drainage.
IIRC a bow hunter was attacked by a grizzly and he was able to kill it with an arrow () about 30 - 35 years ago, somewhere in Southern or Central Colorado. I remember it being on the news at the time because it was assumed that there were "NO" grizzlies in CO.
I want to say this was sometime between about 1979 and 1985. Anyone else remember that or are you all nOObies to Colorado?![]()

Im not a noobie just too young at the time to take note
