Now THAT would be badass! T'hell with towing planes and space shuttles and what not... I wanna see one of these semi trucks tear up the mountain.
It could be interesting since EVs are unaffected by elevation the same way ICE cars are and there's reduced drag at higher elevations so, theoretically, they would be MORE efficient on their way up instead of less like an ICE vehicle is between sea-level and higher elevations. The lower CoG due to the batteries being down low would help with body roll and what not too. Instant torque is always a plus in race applications too even though they tend to keep things spooled up pretty well on those hill climbs. That may be one instance where the silence would be even more odd though. Could you imagine one of those barreling up the mountain the way they do and all you hear is gravel being kicked up and a slight faint wine as it sails past?
I think it would be cool to see what one of those set up specifically for that race would do. I mean, if they're about proving what their vehicles can do against their ICE counterparts it only makes sense, right?
