I'm thrilled for the idea of them 6 deep bumper to bumper (drafting) when I'm trying to merge onto I-20 (Tesla's vision... I can't wait to see how good their collision avoidance is with merging traffic)

cue the person calling me out for FUD.

Work at a semi dealership. Our current production trucks have forward and side looking radar and will apply brakes or throttle in situations as needed is it perfect no. But it is out there
You sir, are a specialist in the art of discovering a welcoming outcome of a particular situation....not a mechanic.

My feedback add 11-12 ish before the great servpocaylpse of 2012

For the record, I have nothing against working collision avoidance.

I am extremely wary of any plans to "convoy" trucks close enough to have significant aerodynamic advantage.
If you've driven I-20 between Dallas and Shreveport in any GCWR under 15k, you'll likely know what I mean.

If you disagree, look carefully at accident statistics involving Semis on that route.
