Jer will be happy.
It's hard to be happy for any failure in this industry you want to be successful. Especially since I know a few of their employees who are good people and will now be w/o a job.
It was mismanaged from the moment it was bought out and unfortunately the writing was on the wall since then IMO. I wish they would have valued their customers more and maybe I'd still have a LGS I could spend lots of time and money in and maybe they'd still be in business. They thought they were too big to take care of the customers that took care of them and it came back to bite them. Can't say I'm surprised in this age when everything can be had online cheaper. If you don't offer exemplary customer service to those who are willing to pay a premium for it, what do you really offer? I know once I started making all of my purchases online to the lowest bidder I saved a boat load of money. Makes me wish I had done so sooner since I thought I was investing in a local relationship that would value my loyalty which wasn't the case. The Liberty stores opening up & a Republican in office were just the nail in the coffin but that hole was being dug years ago through continued efforts in the wrong direction.
I know not everyone shares my view though. I wish nothing but the best for the employees.

That's too bad, I bought a lot from them in years past. But in the last few times I stopped in over the last few years, their shelves just seemed very bare and sad. With the two Liberty stores opening up and having a better inventory, the writing was on the wall for a while.
Took me to the tenth post to figure out what Jensen’s was.
I always had a 50/50 experience with them. some were better than others. Either way, it sucks seeing a long time store like this (or any gun store) close down. I was just talking to a co-worker about them too.

True story... I ran into the guy who owned(?) or was part owner of Jensen's at some point in the past at a small gun shop in Orofino some time in the early spring of 2017. We looked at each other and both had that "I know you" look on our faces. For the life of me I can't remember his name. But he moved up here several years ago to get away from the rat race.

Jeff. he's also a reserve Deputy with the Larimer County Sheriff Department so maybe he'll take this opportunity to go full-time. I don't know though. Hopefully he and Shea both land on their feet as they're both awesome dudes.
Bob?!? You ran into Bob in Idaho?! That's awesome man! He was the original owner and is indeed named Bob Jensen; the store's namesake. His plan for many years was to sell that joint and move to Idaho which is exactly what he did. He talked about selling forever and it wasn't until a heart attack gave him the scare he needed to move on to greener pastures. I'm glad he did finally sell as he seemed super stressed running that joint which I could definitely understand.
I think it's funny that we had a bob sighting somewhere in Idaho. Small world.

He was super stressed because he was a wound too tight new yorker, who never assimilated to the (at the time) laid back CO lifestyle. Overtly paranoid everyone was stealing from him. If he wasn't doing it it wasn't getting done, blah, blah, blah.
I liked imitating him when he was running around and ask how he was doing
I'M TOO GODDAM BUSY TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK!
The flip side ..when he was in a good mood and life was smooth sailing. He'd just about give away a gun to get your business. But that was another time and owner.
Before they were on 4th street he had a hole in the wall on the west side of the street on cleveland, just north of 4th. You had 3 people working the counter, Bob, Mike and Pat. If there were 2 customers the third would be standing 1/2 in the shop, 1/2 on the sidewalk.
