I called back and told her if she didn't have the time to find out for me, I didn't have the time to come and spend my money there.
That would have been Marilyn, the sister, and while she always treated me ok, she was bad for business.

I think John wanted to succeed, but he had a much different way of running things, much different from Bob.

I feel very sorry for the employees that are losing their jobs.

I read the article and it is easy to blame the box stores for your woes, but I worked a small speciality store when a big box store came into town, we did not try and compete with the loss leaders, we let them have that, pretty soon we had more business than ever cuz we could still compete on everything else and had more knowledgeable staff. People would come from miles around to visit the box store and then come to our store to purchase.

But we made sure we had merchandise to purchase, Jensens has been lacking in that for quite some time.

Bought my first AR and a case of ammo there when they were still on 4th street. I never had a bad experience there.

Bought an M1A from them many moons ago. Hate to see anyone go under, but it happens.

Sad to see this. Bought a few guns from them between the old and new owner. Haven’t been there in years though.

Meh, no surprise they're going out of business when they are more interested in being assholes than selling guns.

My dad called a few weeks ago to see if they had a Glock 29. They told him they had a used Gen3. He was going to buy the Gen3 but inquired about a new Gen4 just in case they might have one too. The salesman on the phone laughed and told him the 29 Gen4 doesn't exist. Then the salesman suggested that the 10mm was probably too much gun for him anyhow. Too much gun for a champion marksman who carried a gun professionally on the street and was a firearms instructor at a major LE agency. Yeah, good advice Jensen's.

Anyway, Jensen's lost a sure sale that day simply because the skilled "salesman" literally told someone he'd never met and knew nothing about that he SHOULDN'T buy a gun they had in stock.

Dad went a bought the supposedly non-existent Gen4 G29 at Liberty Arms a couple days later. And it's not too much gun .

Sad to see this place close. nothing but good experiences.

I called in once asking about a specific firearm and the guy on the phone sounded like he was a doper and told me that Jensen's did not have what I was looking for. 2 minutes later the owner called me and apologized and stated that he had what I was looking for. Needless to say I still drove the 100+ miles from where I was living at the time and still made the purchase.

Has anyone seen the sale prices of accessories? Are they good enough to visit one last time?

I was in on Thursday. The closing sale is 20% off, IMO not worth it.
