Bob moved up there after selling the store, ostensibly to retire and develop some land. I spent time and a LOT of money in his store.... got some great deals, and always went back because he did OK by me and he always had a selection of guns not easily found elsewhere. I remember the stores earlier locations, with those three guys. Bob and Pat were great, Mike (the one selling his own stuff in the store) was, and probably still is, a complete idiot.

I had a good relationship with Bob and his sister Marilyn, she always treated me right. The New York style doesn't play well out west, it was sometimes a challenge to deflect Bob's intensity. And yeah, the sarcastic New York approach doesn't appeal to everyone.

    It's unfortunate situation, but predictable.

Sad to see this. Bought a few guns from them between the old and new owner. Haven’t been there in years though.

Meh, no surprise they're going out of business when they are more interested in being assholes than selling guns.

My dad called a few weeks ago to see if they had a Glock 29. They told him they had a used Gen3. He was going to buy the Gen3 but inquired about a new Gen4 just in case they might have one too. The salesman on the phone laughed and told him the 29 Gen4 doesn't exist. Then the salesman suggested that the 10mm was probably too much gun for him anyhow. Too much gun for a champion marksman who carried a gun professionally on the street and was a firearms instructor at a major LE agency. Yeah, good advice Jensen's.

Anyway, Jensen's lost a sure sale that day simply because the skilled "salesman" literally told someone he'd never met and knew nothing about that he SHOULDN'T buy a gun they had in stock.

Dad went a bought the supposedly non-existent Gen4 G29 at Liberty Arms a couple days later. And it's not too much gun .

Sad to see this place close. nothing but good experiences.

I called in once asking about a specific firearm and the guy on the phone sounded like he was a doper and told me that Jensen's did not have what I was looking for. 2 minutes later the owner called me and apologized and stated that he had what I was looking for. Needless to say I still drove the 100+ miles from where I was living at the time and still made the purchase.

Has anyone seen the sale prices of accessories? Are they good enough to visit one last time?

I was in on Thursday. The closing sale is 20% off, IMO not worth it.

IMO don't be surprised if this isn't the only closing by spring.
