Got invited by a lawyer friend to the AG debate this past week between Brauchler and Weiser. Hoo boy, no surprise but Weiser came across as just another wacky liberal college prof. Everything he said came down to what he believes, not necessarily what the law states. Uh yeah, not what the job requires. Brauchler (full disclosure I know him a little, don't socialize but run into him quite a bit) came across very solid, no surprise, can be a little brusk at times but damn solid. I don't always agree with the decisions he's made but definitely for me the right man for the job. I especially appreciated his candor when he said he disagreed with AG Coffman suing Boulder County over it's fracking restrictions. Early on he nailed it when he said there's a move among both parties to turn the AG into an extra senator or assistant governor.

Watched the debate between Polis and Stapleton Friday. To me Polis came out even whackier and far far left than I thought he was. Stapleton needs some image help. Not a great public speaker, for that matter neither is the chcken shit asshole in the office now.

Quite a few times it was like two little rich (which they are) kids shouting at each other. For me it got especially annoying with Polis refusing to answer the direct questions (again, no surprise) but the most irritating point was when the topic of tax returns being released and the blind trusts that each of them have. I DO NOT like multi-millionaires running for and being in public office, both of these guys rub me wrong and it'll be the lesser of two evils at election time-Stapleton. Hopefully he'll get some help and can learn to get his point across in a cohesive and competent manner.

For you folks in Arapahoe County pay attention to the Sheriff's race. Wachler is the only one that should be in the office of the three (the third party guy is particularly worrisome, seems he just wants a public office somewhere for his agenda; unsuccessfully tried for a city council position and then mayor in Aurora). I've heard concerns voiced that the city of Centennial may cancel it's contract for l.e. with Arapahoe if either of the other two guys besides Wachler get elected. That could mean a job loss for the SO with no guarantee of being hired for the Centennial PD if one were to be created.

There ya go, just one grumpy semi-old guy's take on things. My head always hurts just a bit more this time of year.
