Might sound stupid, but 30 years ago, the concept of the internet didn't exist and it was created out of 100% whole cloth. It seems completely ridiculous, but there is no reason that another "internet" couldn't be created, seeing as how the real estate in cyberspace is infinite. Far fetched? Maybe.
