People who hate wolves might as well be Californians...

It's actually not the wolves per se. It's that the wolf reintroduction was very controversial because raising livestock and subsistence hunting are very big in the region and people who make their living that way feared the wolves would negatively impact them. People see the ungulate populations dwindling pretty rapidly in areas where they've historically been very strong and many blame the wolves. I don't know enough about it to really have an opinion either way but I'll admit I tend to side with the wildlife...usually since they didn't have a say in the matter. I'd love to see a wolf in the wild, though.

Back in the 70's Our Governor in Oregon told us they were coming and there was nothing we could do about it. He said it would only take 10-15 years before the way of life as we knew it would change. When I got out of the Military in 92 I went back and in a month I was asking WTF had happened. Then it hit me. That was when I moved to Colorado full time. Every time I go back it amazes me.
