Default 5 yr old and monster trucks

Taking the 5 yr old grandson to the Monster Truck Winternationals this afternoon. He has no idea, big surprise lol. Should be a fun time, I‘ve never been-not quite sure what to expect outside of the sheer joy and happiness on his face. I’ve got hearing protection for both of us and I’m really looking forward to a fun time with my best little buddy.

Our ticket package includes meeting some of the drivers and preferential seating (whatever that means). After action report to follow.

    Fumes, beware the fumes.
And wear ear plugs & Mickey Mouse ears hearing protection over them.

Five is probably a good age. My buddy took his three year-old and he didn't pay attention and whines the whole time. He was pretty disappointed.

What five year old wouldn?t love monster trucks?

Sounds like a memory he?ll have for a long time.

Hopefully they smash a few Prius?s.

I?m heading to the show this afternoon with my 5 year old boy too. He?s so excited!

I have muffs for him but I think I might double up per the above suggestion.

If it is indoors, be prepared for the burning eyes and lungs. We have taken our 5, 3 and 1 year old a couple times now. They love them. The hearing protection is a must, along with a blanket to keep warm.

My boy was 6 when I took him the first time. He's generally disinterested but had a blast.

Well, that was fun, mostly! Ended up sitting near some nice folks which helped. First off didn't need a blanket though we were pretty cold walking from the parking lot to the arena-didn't know about the food and gift show in the old arena so even getting there at 11:30 parking was a mess. We had the VIP pass thanks to my daughter in law getting them through Groupon. Walked around the arena floor checking out all the trucks and meeting the drivers, he enjoyed that. However it was the Monster Bus that really caught his attention-we had to ride it. Best $20 I've spent in a long time. At first I didn't realize you get to ride in it but he figured it out quickly.

Had to get him a checkered flag (that's what the drivers were autographing), a light sword, hot dog and lemonade hahaha. Glad I brought ear protection, damn those things are loud LOL. Next up will be taking him to moto-cross in the spring/summer.

Oh, and the young lady that sang the National Anthem did an amazing job!

Yeah, the muffs slipped a little but we fixed that quickly.

The bus in action, have a video from the inside I shared with his parents and they enjoyed watching it as much as we did haha.

    Very cool.

If he likes the motocross next summer you have open invitation to bring him out to the prairie to learn to ride dirt bikes and atvs.

Mrs bo won't let me have monster trucks.
